Project Goals and Outputs
What have we done so far?
We have been interviewing lots of people, mapping the history of the town, gathering information together from lots of sources, as well as trying to become more involved in community life of Newtown.
We know our ideas and insights are incomplete and are happy to meet with and interview anyone with an interest in the town and its future or who has information that might help us better understand the town’s connections to other places.
At the end of the project, in 2017, we will organise an exhibition in the town to feedback our findings and to give residents a chance to reflect on the place in which they live.
Ultimately we hope that this research will be meaningful for Newtown and interesting to the people that live there as the town deals with ongoing changes and challenges, not least the new bypass.
We would hope our research could contribute in some way for those generating plans for developing the town, producing educational materials and resources that can be used in local schools and by tourism facilities, and promote the town and the mid Wales area more generally.
