Working with older students

In late 2015 we ran a number of lessons with sixth form geography students at Newtown High School. This included a piece of field work in Newtown looking at how the high street is changing, and a session looking at globalisation and fast food.

In 2016 we are also running focus groups with some students from NPTC to find out more about their thoughts on globalisation, food and Newtown life; and we plan to conduct a survey amongst teenagers in the town to look at how social media is affecting the way they think about and connect to the wider world.

We'll report on this and other research with younger people on these pages. If a community group has an idea for something they might like to do to investigate younger peoples thoughts and attitudes to global connections (around social networks, media, news, careers, consumption and future change) then please get in touch.
